Us, Coffee Trail and the Triangle Square Market

at the Triangle Square Market, Cavendish

This past weekend I visited the Triangle Square Market at Cavendish Square. Tammy, the owner of Fresh Food Design, invited me to come check it out. She sells freshly baked croissants, cheese twists, health loafs and rye bread just to name few.

The market is situated between Woolworths and Mr Price on the Lower Ground level of Cavendish. The market is still small but they are making plans to expand it soon. Watch this space!
At the market you can find a book stall, a lady selling beautiful ribbon as well as food and beverage stalls. Le Petite Moo Catering (go ‘Like’ them on FB) were selling delicious brownies for R15 and mini quiches for R25. I tried 2 of their best selling brownies -White Chocolate and Cheesecake and they were to die for! There were also stalls selling pies, samosas and Mexican finger food.

At the market I was also introduced to a new vitamin water drink called Stream. Stream vitamin waters are unique in that they have a unique push cap which only releases the vitamins into the water when you push the cap and are ready to drink. This prevents the vitamins from being degraded by the water. The water will change colour when the vitamins are released into the water. At the moment there are 5 flavours in the range and you can buy your bottle of Stream at Osumo stores in Cape Town or at the Triangle Square Market on Fridays and Saturdays. For more information visit: www.streamdrinks.com

As for the coffee, on offer is a single origin coffee sourced in Peru and roasted locally. An Americano will set you back R15.

So next time you find yourself in Cavendish on a Friday or Saturday, why not take a stroll past the market. :)
